Kern Pharma’s health and sports nutrition brand to be the new main sponsor of the race and the Combativity Award.
Finisher®, Kern Pharma’s renowned health and sports nutrition brand is set to be Itzulia’s main sponsor and provide the official nutritional supplement for the event. On race days from 5 to 10 April, the best cyclists in the international peloton can stock up on nutritional products to help them overcome the challenges posed by the tough stages of the race.
A novelty under the agreement will be the awarding of the Finisher® prize for combativity at the end of each stage – except for the time trial – which will recognise values such as effort and dedication during each stage of the race.
The process of selecting the winner of the award will be participatory, anyone can vote for the most combative runner of each stage via Itzulia’s official Twitter account @ehitzulia.
Julian Eraso, president of OCETA stated “we are delighted to have brands like Finisher® and the values it represents. Cycling is a very tough and unforgiving sport where proper nourishment is extremely important before, during and after each stage”.
Cycling is one of the disciplines where Finisher® has a strong presence thanks to its range of energy bars, gels and food supplements. Kern Pharma has also promoted its Kern Pharma ProTeam since 2020, which will be one of the 24 entrants on the starting line of the Itzulia time trial in Bilbao on 5 April.
