Julian Eraso bids farewell to the OCETA presidency but will remain involved with cycling

The Basque Cycling Organisation Euskadi-Txirrindulari Elkartea (OCETA) announces that Julian Eraso, who has led the institution for over 7 years, is stepping down as president. Eraso, a mainstay for the development of cycling in the Basque Country, has been a key figure in the organisation of symbolic events such as the Itzulia Basque Country, the EuskalBizikleta, Itzulia Women and the Clasica San Sebastian, consolidating its prestige on the international calendar.

With this decision, Eraso ends a period marked by his commitment, strategic vision, and passion for cycling. Under his leadership, OCETA not only strengthened its connection with the region and its fans but also promoted innovative initiatives for sustainable development and new initiatives.

Despite his departure, Julián Eraso has not cut ties with cycling. His experience and knowledge will remain a valuable resource, as continues to collaborate with OCETA and other projects related to the sport.

OCETA would like to express its deepest and most sincere thanks to Julian Eraso for his tireless dedication and contribution to cycling. Julian has dedicated many years to promoting cycling, from the grassroots to the highest level. The association reaffirms its commitment to continue working for the development of Basque cycling, maintaining the values and legacy that Eraso has been able to build.

Javier Riaño, previously the General Manager of the Itzulia Basque Country and Clasica San Sebastian, will take up the reins and the challenge of continuing to strengthen current projects and face future challenges.

From OCETA, we wish Julian Eraso every success with his new projects and thank him for his invaluable contribution to the history and future of cycling.

Eskerrik asko Julian!
