The UCI has officially announced the 2024 World Tour calendar, which will again include three races organised by OCETA. The Itzulia, the Itzulia Women and the Clásica San Sebastián remain in the top category for another year. Following their sporting success and the positive response of teams and judges, the three Basque races remain on the World Tour calendar.
The Itzulia will be held from 1 to 6 April, its usual schedule. The first stage will take place on Easter Monday when it is hoped that fans take advantage of the holiday to come and watch the start of the race.
One month later, the third edition of the Itzulia Women will take place. The best female cyclists in the world will ride through the Basque Country for three days. The race will be run from 10-12 May.
The Clásica San Sebastián will start a week later than usual, due to the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. We will get to see the best cyclists in the world again on 10 August in Donostia-San Sebastián. When Remco Evenepoel could surpass Marino Lejarreta to become the greatest ever solo winner of the Clásica.
